MOUNT AIRY — Plans to locate a Domino's Pizza here may run afoul of town zoning requirements.
Primarily a delivery business, Domino's would like toopen a franchise in the lower-level office area of the Barnes Building in Ridgeside Business Center. Zoning requirements limit retail businesses to the top floor of the Ridge Road building.
The building was zoned retail and office to alleviate parking problems. Terry Sparks, owner of the planned Domino's franchise, said a delivery business would not contribute to those problems.
About 7 percent of its pizza customers come into the store, said Sparks. The company requires its franchises to maintain five parking spaces at each location.
Also, Domino's hours of operation would differ from the businesses sharing space on the lower level. Hours would be 4 to 11 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to midnight weekends.
The only business with similar hours is Long & Foster Realtors, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Planning Commission members were concerned about thelegality of changing zoning requirements to accommodate the franchise.
County planner Greg Horner said members should consult the townattorney before ruling on the request.

STAFF ADDS PHARMACIST
WESTMINSTER -- Washington Heights Pharmacy has announced the addition of Theodore R. Tetkowski, registered pharmacist, to its staff.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, he was employed most recently ata pharmacy in Hampstead. He also has served as chairman of the Employee Relations Committee for the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association.
CCGH'S TOP EMPLOYEE
WESTMINSTER -- Teresa "Terri" Wilson has been selected as Employee of the Month for August by Carroll County General Hospital.
An employee of the hospital for more than 13 years, she worked nine years in the CCGH pharmacy department before taking on her position as a secretary in the administrative offices.
Her primary responsibility is to provide secretarial support to the medical staff. In addition, she attends approximately 16 monthly meetings, takes minutes, and coordinates and conducts any follow-up on issues generated during these meetings.
She was cited for her dependability and excellence in performing her duties.
BUSINESS SHOW SLATED
WESTMINSTER -- The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will have its thirdannual Business to Business '91 Show Oct. 3 at Martin's Westminster.
Open to all business people, the show will feature more than 70 display booths for area businesses to exhibit their products and services.
Business owners, executives, buyers, salespeople and purchasing agents from Carroll and surrounding counties are expected to attend.
Featured speakers for this show will be Ron Smith, WBAL radio talk show host, at the General Membership Breakfast 8-9 a.m.; and Maryland State Comptroller Louis L. Goldstein at the General Membership Luncheon at noon.
Tickets are $8 for breakfast and $15 for luncheon. Anyone interested may attend the breakfast or luncheon, but reservations must be made in advance, as seating is limited.
