Annapolis resident Richard H. Wade, currently of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA), has been named senior vice president of communications for the American Hospital Association (AHA).
Wade 44, willbe responsible for all internal and external communications functions in his new capacity at the AHA.
Before joining the MHA in 1979, he served for eight years as a press secretary and aide to county executives in Maryland. He spent twoyears as news editor of the weekly Prince George's County News and as a reporter for The Capital newspaper in Annapolis.
Wade has pursued an active second career in the arts, writing 15 produced plays and musicals, as well as poetry and free-lance works for trade, industrial shows, revues and television.
He has been a trustee of the Annapolis Opera and a board member and president of the Colonial Theatrein Annapolis.
