16-year-old Son Of Deputy Dies In Crash Near Pylesville

The 16-year-old son of a Harford sheriff's deputy died in a one-car accident on Harkins Road near Pylesville Monday, state police said.

Justin N. Taylor, who got his driver's license about two weeks ago,was pronounced dead at the scene, said state police from the Benson barracks. He would have been a junior at North Harford High School this fall.

He was the son of Deputy J. Randall Taylor, of the 4800 blockClermont Mill Road, Pylesville.

Police said Justin was speeding south on Harkins Road at 8:50 p.m. when he lost control of his 1986 Dodge Shadow.

Investigators did not disclose how fast the car was traveling.

The car, after striking a utility pole and guardrail, was airborne for about 85 feet, police said. The car then struck a tree, coming to rest on an embankment.

Justin is the 16th person killed in traffic accidents in Harford this year. Twenty-two people were killed in accidents by this time last year.
