Here's what to look for in the metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

Warren Road at Route 45 will be closed for approximately 30 days beginning Sept. 4. Motorists should follow detour signs.

The east approach to the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge (I-695) between exits 42 and 43 will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Detours will be posted.

Traffic on West Liberty Road (Route 439) from Garrett Road west to I-83 will be one-way.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled these changes. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

No. 28

No. 28 Mondawmin and Northern branches will travel this route because of construction of the Central Light Rail Line. Buses will not operate on Park Avenue between Howard and McMechen streets. Northbound will travel the regular route to Russell and Conway streets, then north on Russell, north on Paca Street, east on Baltimore Street, north on Eutaw Street, east on McMechen, north on Park, then via the regular route. Southbound will travel the regular route to Park and McMechen, then west on McMechen, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard Street, then via the regular route.

No. 14, 28, 51, and 64

Nos. 14, 28 Cherry Hill, 51 Cherry Hill and 64 From 7 p.m. Friday to until 7 p.m. next Sunday, Waterview Avenue between Cherry Hill Road and Sidney Avenue will be closed because of light rail construction. Southbound will travel the regular route on Annapolis Road to Wenburn Street, then east on Wenburn, south on Kloman Street, east on Waterview, then via the regular route. Northbound will travel the current route on Waterview to Kloman, then north on Kloman, west on Wenburn, west on Russell Street, then via the regular route.

Resumption of regular routes

Nos. 10, 19 and 27 -- Southbound buses on the Nos. 10 and 27 lines and northbound No. 19 buses have returned to their regular routes with the completion of construction on Eutaw Street between Lombard and Pratt streets.

No. 27 -- The temporary route due to water main construction has been canceled. Buses will return to the regular route.
