Services for Princess C. Tanner, who had lived in Severna Park since 1957 and was active in genealogical and similar groups, will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Barranco and Sons Funeral Home, Ritchie Highway and Robinson Road in Severna Park.

Mrs. Tanner, who was 76, died Tuesday at North Arundel Hospital of complications following surgery.

A native of Phenix, Va., the former Princess Jeanette Cross moved to Severna Park from Piney River, Va., with her husband, Charles A. Tanner Jr., a retired executive of the SCVM Corp. She maintained her membership in the Amherst Presbyterian Church Amherst, Va.

A charter member of the Anne Arundel Genealogical Society, she also belonged to the Fort Severn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the William H. Murray Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

In addition to her husband, her survivors include two sons, Charles A. Tanner III of Reston, Va., and William A. Tanner of Severna Park; a sister, Janie Cross Walthall of Evington, Va.; and three grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Patrick Henry Boys Plantation in Brookneal, Va.
