August 23, 1991

Atlanta police charged an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old with murder this week in the shooting Sunday of a 3-year-old Parkville girl who was caught in their cross fire while visiting a great-aunt in Atlanta.

Homicide Capt. Calvin Wardlaw said Danielle Booth, 3, was in a crowd watching a fight outside the Egan Homes about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Down the street, as one teen-ager tried to rob another, both pulled guns and fired at each other, police said. A stray bullet hit Danielle, who died en route to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police would not give any information about the victim's parents, but other sources said they live in Parkville.

Charged with murder Monday and being held without bail in Atlanta are Dana Boykin, 18, and Frank McCarter, 17, who was charged as an adult. Both are from Atlanta.
