Program Helps To Put Pets With People

August 22, 1991

The Purina Pets for People Program helps unite seniors with orphanedpets at no initial cost to the new pet owner. The program pays for adoption fees, neutering or spaying, initial veterinary visits, pet supplies and a starter bag of dog or cat chow.

Many large and small pets are housed at the Bay Ridge animal shelter in Annapolis waiting to be adopted. Animals left at the shelter are often less than a yearold.

Seniors interested in adopting an animal should contact the shelter at 268-4388.
