Dr. J. F. Supplee III

August 22, 1991

Dr. J. Frank Supplee III, a retired specialist in internal medicine, died early yesterday at Union Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 72.

Services for Dr. Supplee will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1700 South Road in Mount Washington.

He retired about seven years ago after being in private practice in Baltimore since 1949.

A member of the staffs at Union Memorial and Johns Hopkins hospitals and the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, he belonged to the Baltimore City Medical Society, the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, the American Medical Association and the Society of Internal Medicine.

The Baltimore native was a graduate of Gilman School, Princeton University and, in 1944, of Johns Hopkins medical school.

He began his military service after his graduation from Hopkins, but also served as a resident in internal medicine at Union Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Supplee is survived by his wife, the former Sally Mann; a son, J. Frank Supplee IV of Fairfax, Va.; two daughters, Sally Supplee French of Germantown and Elizabeth Supplee Stewart of McLean, Va.; a brother, Edward A. Supplee of Baltimore; a sister, Montgomery Supplee Abbott of West Chester, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

The family suggested that contributions could be made to Union Memorial Hospital or St. John's Episcopal Church.
