Gunfire wounds 2 at condo complex in Howard County

Gunfire on the parking lot of a Columbia town house complex last night left two men wounded, one of them in critical condition, Howard County police said.

Milton A. Nias of the 5400 block of Endicott Lane was shot in the parking lot of the Sierra Villas condominium complex.

The complex is located in the 11200 block of Avalanche Way, police said.

Mr. Nias was in critical condition last night at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

The driver of the vehicle, William A. Conway Jr., 22, of the 7500 block of Murray Hill Drive in Columbia, suffered a minor gunshot wound to the leg.

He was being treated at Howard County General Hospital last night.

No motive for the shooting, which occurred at 7:30 p.m., has been determined, investigators said.
