'Jeannie' due out of bottle again

August 18, 1991|By Cox News Service

Barbara Eden and a former star of "Dallas" will work together in an NBC movie based on the network's former hit, "I Dream of Jeannie."

Ms. Eden will reprise her role as a 4,000-year-old genie, and she will be joined by former series star Bill Daily (Roger Healey) in the "I Still Dream of Jeannie," which will air Oct. 20.

"Dallas" star Larry Hagman, who starred from 1965 to 1970 as Maj. Tony Nelson, the man who owned, fell in love with and then married Jeannie, will not appear in this remake.

But Ken Kercheval, who was Mr. Hagman's nemesis on "Dallas," has been cast in the two-hour movie.

Mr. Daily's character as Healey was Nelson's best friend and the only other person who knew that Jeannie was a genie.
