Weber's on Boston, 845 S. Montford Ave., Canton, 276-0800. Take a deserted corner saloon, surround it with trendies and tourists, lovingly restore it and you have Weber's, one of the newest and most interesting restaurants in one of the hottest neighborhoods in Baltimore. Open only a couple of months, Weber's seems already to be a popular spot. The menu is a

blend of old and new, light fare and some that is more substantial. The fresh grilled vegetables ($7.95) with fettuccine in a light tomato sauce were delicious, as well as beautiful. The service is friendly and the bar inviting. $ 1/2 moderately inexpensive. (Last visited 7/91.) La Paz, 18 Market Space, Frederick, (301) 694-8980. Dreaming of fragrant hot corn tortillas, pecan pralines and the vivid, fresh flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine? Well, wake up and face the reality that is La Paz, a pretty nice Mexican place but hardly the stuff dreams are made of. This colorful spot, tucked behind a parking deck, offers heaps of filling, familiar Tex-Mex, with prices that top out at $9.75 -- not a bad deal if you're in the area and really need a beer-and-burrito fix. $inexpensive. LYNN WILLIAMS Danny's, 1201 N. Charles St., 539-1393. We were inspired to some fretful sympathy for Danny's on a recent visit. Their award plaques hung crooked, fingerprints smudged the dinner plates, which were looking weary with worn-away filigree, and the flowers drooped in the vestibule bouquet. Someone left off the pate's croute, forgot how much salt there is in Smithfield ham, let the rice go wet and drowned the crepes Suzette in sugar and alcohol. What to eat? Try the chicken breast au vinaigre, and then a slice of apple pie. $$$expensive. (Last visited 6/91.)
