Baseball Baltimore Orioles -- Placed P Mark Williamson (strained left side) on the 15-day DL and sent P Stacy Jones (4.09 ERA) to Class AAA Rochester. Recalled P Jose Bautista, who was on loan to Class A Miami, and P Jose Mesa from Rochester.

Milwaukee Brewers -- Acquired IF William Suero from the Toronto Blue Jays, completing a trade in which Milwaukee sent OF Candy Maldonado to the Blue Jays last week. The Brewers also had received P Rob Wishnevski.

New York Knicks -- Signed C Patrick Eddie.

Mount St. Mary's -- Announced the signing of 6-4 G Phil Galvin of Antioch, Calif. Galvin played at Santa Rosa JC last season, averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds, and has 3 years of eligibility remaining.
