Pasta teams with turkey in quick recipe

A TURKEY and pasta recipe by Julie L. Bowman won the "National Turkey Lovers Recipe Contest for Teens." It was sponsored by the National Turkey Federation.

Chutneys are available in the gourmet aisle of most supermarkets. If you can't find mango chutney, another may be substituted.

Curried Turkey Twist

1 pound turkey breast cutlets or tenderloins, cut into 1/2 x2-inch strips

2 teaspoons peanut oil

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon curry powder

1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

Non-stick cooking spray

2 ounces snow peas, blanched

1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced

8 cherry tomatoes, halved

1/4 cup each red and green bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1/4 x2-inch strips

2 cups cooked rotini pasta

Chutney dressing, recipe below

In small bowl combine turkey, oil and spices. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Coat large non-stick skillet with vegetable cooking spray. Over medium-high heat, saute turkey mixture four to five minutes.

Combine all ingredients, cover and refrigerate 20 minutes to allow flavors to blend.

Chutney Dressing

1/3 cup peanut oil

1/3 cup mango chutney (another chutney can be substituted)

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon bottled hot sauce

In blender combine all ingredients until smooth.
