Condom sales

It's your call

August 14, 1991

Given the growing numbers of Americans afflicted with AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseses, should condoms be more widely available and easier to purchase? For instance, would you be in favor of condom sales at supermarket checkout counters?

Of 312 callers to SUNDAIL yesterday, 79 percent, or 248, said condoms should be more widely available and easier to purchase, while 21 percent, or 64, said they should not be. In addition, out of 311 callers, 62 percent, or 194, favored condom sales at supermarket counters, while 38 percent, or 117, did not.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
