Cartoon-image pacifiers recalled

August 14, 1991

Evenflo Product Co. is recalling all of its infant pacifiers decorated with images of Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse because of a choking hazard.

In some instances, the characters can separate from the pacifier and pose the danger of choking, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The pacifiers were sold from December through last month, retailing for $2 to $3. Evenflo informed all distributors, wholesalers and retailers of the recall and will ask stores to post warning posters of the action, the commission said.
