Baltimore City

STABBING: Central District -- Denise Beasley, of the 4600 block of Frederick Ave., was listed in critical condition today at the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore with a stab wound in the abdomen. Police say Beasley got into an altercation with her boyfriend at his home at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and he pulled a knife. Robert Mayshall, of the 900 block of Whitelock St., was arrested at his home yesterday and charged with attempted murder. He was being held at the Central District lockup. Bail had not been set.

THEFT: Central District -- Stan Becker, who had a booth at the Hispanic Fair in the first block of Hopkins Plaza, reported that someone removed his safe, which contained $1,000, between 9 and 9:10 p.m. yesterday.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone stole $400 from under the counter at the Chart House Restaurant, 601 E. Pratt St., at about 8 p.m. yesterday.

BURGLARY: Eastern District -- William Evans, of the 1300 block of N. Milton Ave., reported that someone entered his home through the kitchen window and took a TV set, cassette player and exercise bicycle valued at $900.

ASSAULT: Eastern District -- Calvin McNair, of the 1900 block of Belair Road, was released from Johns Hopkins Hospital after he was hit in the head by a man during an argument outside a bar in the 1600 block of Federal St. at 3 p.m. Saturday. ATTEMPT ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A Royal Cab driver was dropping off a passenger in the 4900 block of Gunther Ave. at 3:50 a.m. yesterday when he was approached by a young man who pointed a .22-caliber handgun and demanded money. The driver grabbed the gun and the weapon discharged as the men struggled. The suspect then ran away. There were no injuries.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A man broke into a home in the 1500 block of Ralworth Road between 11:35 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Saturday. He fled through a second-floor bedroom window after he was discovered by occupants of the home, and no property was taken.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Michael Ogar was operating an ice cream truck in the 1800 block of Freedom Way North when two men entered the vehicle through the pay window and took ice cream valued at $55.

RAPE: Northeastern District -- A man forced a 23-year-old woman into a back yard in the 1700 block of Montpelier St. at about 4:30 a.m. yesterday and sexually assaulted her twice. He took two gold rings from the woman before escaping.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Harold Bond, of the 6000 block of Marluth Ave., said his convertible was parked near his home between 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday when someone unzipped the rear window and took stereo equipment valued at $438.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Yngve Roenike, of Beltsville, reported that a man approached him in the 1100 block of Gorsuch Ave. at 2:45 p.m. yesterday, pulled out a revolver and robbed him of $80.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man was approached by two men in the 3100 block of Loch Raven Blvd. at 8:40 p.m. Saturday. One of the men pulled out a handgun and they robbed the victim of $29.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Rasace Hones, of the 6700 block of Town Brook Drive, was in the 1600 block of Homestead St. when she got into an argument with a juvenile at 7:10 p.m. yesterday and the youth hit her in the back of a head with a rock.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Greg Carmenan, of the 400 block of Palmer Ave., said his car was parked in the 3100 block of Fenwick Ave. at about 11 p.m. Saturday when someone snapped off the roof of the convertible and took speakers, sunglasses and cassette tapes worth $606.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Kenneth Mergos, of the 2100 block of Oakcrest Ave., reported that someone entered his home through an unlocked bedroom window between 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. yesterday and took $100 in currency and coins.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Edward Dunker, of the 3400 block of Chesterfield Ave., said his car was parked in the 5600 block of Pulaski Highway at 1:45 p.m. yesterday when someone broke the rear window and took power tools worth $900.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Joseph Dennis Jr., of the 5400 block of Todd Ave., got into an altercation with Karen Dennis, whose relationship to him was unknown, at 1:35 p.m. yesterday. The woman was charged with assault after the man said she tried to stab him with two knives and then hit him on the head with a broom handle. There were no serious injuries.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Someone entered the property of Charles Leftkowitz, in the 1100 block of Evans Way, between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 5:30 p.m. yesterday and took a 50-horsepower outboard motor valued at $1,200.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A Sun Cab Co. driver was in the 3000 block of Denison St. at 6:15 p.m. Saturday when a gunman robbed him of $300.
