This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.
Maryland contracts
The George Hyman Construction Co. in Suitland won a $54,164,000 contract from the Navy for the construction of a headquarters building at the Naval Intelligence Command Headquarters.
Aim Corp. in Parkton won a $440,000 contract from the Navy to provide rocket catapult tubes.
ST Systems Corp. in Lanham won a $100,000 contract from the Air Force for the global climatology of clouds.
Defense research contracts
Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Hunt Valley won a $1,136,552 contract from the Air Force for research and development services.
Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Linthicum won a $281,965 Air Force contract for research and development.
Non-defense contracts
Social and Scientific Systems Inc. in Bethesda won a $22,158,011 contract from the National Institutes of Health
and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for an operations office.
American Type Culture Collection in Rockville won a $2,251,765 contract from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to provide a repository of mice and human DNA probes.
Scientech Inc. in Rockville won a $1,325,898 contract from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to provide submittal reviews including back-end containment performance and source term analysis.
Mantayo Construction Co. in Clinton won a $470,700 contract from the Contracts Division (WPP) for new storage buildings at Andrews Air Force Base.
The Henry Goldman Trust in Bethesda won a $308,167 contract from the General Services Administration for real estate.
Twigg Corp. in District Heights won a $158,000 contract from the Contracts Division (WPP) to replace a cafeteria floor.
