Man Robs Pasadena Card Shop Tuesday

County police are looking for the man who robbed a Pasadena card shop Tuesday.

Police said a man walked into the Mountain Road Card Shop in the 2400 block of Mountain Road at about 12:30 p.m. and broughta card to the counter.

When the clerk opened the cash register, the robber demanded money. The man told the clerk he would not hurt her, saying he was in "bad shape" and was about to lose his child.

He took about $152 from the register and ran out of the store.

Police described the robberas a white man, about 6 feet tall, with long brown hair. He was wearing a black shirt and light gray sweat pants.

2 MEN STEAL WALLET AT SHOPPING CENTER

A Brooklyn Park man told police he was robbed Monday as he was leaving a Laurel shopping center.

The man told officers he was leaving Brockbridge Shopping Center in the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road at about 2:30 a.m. when two men walked up and stole his wallet with about $10 in it.

The man could not provide police witha description of the robbers.

TWO ARE INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE MISHAP

Two people were injured Tuesday night when the motorcycle they wereriding collided with two cars on Route 2 near Deale, county police said.

Police said three cars were traveling south on Route 2 and two of them stopped to make a left turn. The driver of the third car drove around the other two and onto the shoulder of the road. At that point, a motorcycle came around the corner and tried to squeeze between cars turning left and the car on the shoulder, police said.

The motorcycle hit two of the cars, and its passenger was thrown off, landing on the rear window of one of the cars. The motorcycle driver continued some distance before crashing, police said.

The passenger on the motorcycle, 41-year-old Lucinda Ann Mason, of the 5000 block ofArk Road in Lothian, was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

The motorcyclist, Herbert Andrew Shanks, 55, of the 400 block of Evarts Street NE in Washington, was in stable condition yesterday at North Arundel Hospital.

CRASH INTO TREE KILLS DRIVER MONDAY

A Severna Park man was killed Monday night when he lost control of his car and hit a tree on Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, county police said.

Police said Keith Clayton Jacobson, 24, of the unit block of Emerson Road, was driving north on Ritchie Highway at about 7 p.m. when he drove onto the shoulder of the road topass a car. As Jacobson passed the car, a third car was passing the same car in the fast lane of the highway.

Police said Jacobson's car nearly collided with the other passing car as both vehicles moved back into the the fast lane. Both cars swerved to avoid hitting each other and Jacobson's car hit a tree, police said.

A passenger in Jacobson's car, Michelle Lynn Smith, 17, of the 900 block of 220th Street in Pasadena, was in fair and stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

CAR IS SET ABLAZE, ROLLS INTO YARD

A driverless car that had been set afire rolled across the parking lot of an Annapolispublic housing complex yesterday, jumping a curb before stopping in an adjacent yard.

The 12:50 a.m. arson destroyed the 1976 Volkswagen, which had been parked at College Creek Terrace, police said. The car came to rest behind 61 College Creek Terrace.

No one was injured.

Police and arson investigators are unsure who owned the car because the fire destroyed its temporary license plates.

The car, valued at $2,000, was towed to a city storage lot.
