Orioles shouldn't end on a wet note

It's your call

August 05, 1991

There will be 53,371 ticket holders hoping it doesn't, but if it rains on the Orioles' final Memorial Stadium parade Oct. 6, respondents to "It's Your Call" think the game should be rescheduled.

Under ordinary circumstances, a Tigers-Orioles rainout that day would not be made up, unless it would have an effect on the AL East pennant race. (Of course, with the Tigers only four games out, that too is a possibility.)

But with it being the last game at Memorial Stadium, callers by a 2-1 margin said the AL commissioner should make an exception and reschedule it. Out of 461 callers, 66.6 percent (307) said it should be reset and 33.4 percent said it shouldn't.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
