ROCKVILLE POOLESVILLE PRO-AM — Bradford wins Flattery on 21st hole

George Bradford of Columbia parred the third extra hole to outlast Steve Goodley of York, Pa., for the Boys 15-17 championship of the 55th annual Jimmy Flattery Juniors tournament at Hunt Valley Golf Club yesterday.

Bradford, a 6-foot-1 senior at Wilde Lake High School, consistently out-drove his shorter, more compact opponent, but Goodley, 16, and a high school senior, stayed with him with excellent iron play.

Goodley rallied from 3-down after 10 holes to get even at No. 15, then won 17 with a par. Bradford squared the match at the 18th with a par, after Goodley missed the green left, and hung a par putt on the lip of the cup. Each shot 71 for the round.

Kristal Cramer, 17, of Mount Union, Pa., led by two or three holes most of the way and defeated Kristin Dollenberg, 15, of Baltimore CC, 2 and 1, for the Girls 15-17 crown.

In the other titles decided on the final day, Wes Lovell of Hunt Valley edged Jonathan Steckler of Eagle's Nest, 2 and 1, going ahead to stay with a winning par at the 10th hole in the 13-14 pairing. In the 12-under, Pat McGinnis, 12, held off close friend Bart DeLuca, 1-up (nine holes) in an all-Rolling Road GC final.

Mixed twoball

ROCKVILLE -- The Woodholme CC pairing of Andrea Kraus-Sheldon Kalish combined for seven birdies in fashioning the low gross total of 33-3669, and Sheila-Mark Bertoldi of Piney Branch GC teamed for the low net, 74-8-66, in the annual Maryland State Golf Association mixed twoball tournament at Lakewood CC.

POOLESVILLE -- Fran Rhoads of Holly Hills Country Club and Bob Bilbo of Argyle CC, shot 4-under-par 67s to share the pro sweeps victory in the Middle Atlantic PGA pro-am at Poolesville Golf Course.
