Dr. William J. McClafferty, 77, a general surgeon who was president of the medical staff and a board member of Bon Secours Hospital, died Sunday at Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a stroke.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Ruck-Towson funeral establishment, 1050 York Road.
Dr. McClafferty lived on Theo Lane in Towson.
In private practice in Baltimore from 1946 until 1972, he headed the Bon Secours staff in the 1960s and later served on the board.
A founder in 1951 of the Eastern Industrial Clinic, he was a part-time physician there until 1981.
For many years, he practiced industrial medicine at Western Electric Co. He also was a consultant or staff member at St. Agnes and St. Joseph Hospital before his retirement from private practice.
