A 25-year-old Laurel woman was robbed Friday night as she was getting out of her car, county police said.

Police said the robber walked up to the woman at about 10 p.m. in the 300 block Laurelview Court and pushed her down. He took her purse and ran off, police said.

Police described the purse-snatcher as a black male, about 5 feet7 inches tall, and wearing dark clothing.

BALTIMORE MAN, 31, ON DRUGCHARGES

A Baltimore man driving through Freetown Village Friday night was charged with possession of crack cocaine, police said.

William Wilburn Wittler Jr., 31, of the 7800 block Hidden Creek Way, was charged after officers saw him driving around the neighborhood at about 10 p.m. and stopping to talk to several people on the street.

Officers pulled Wittler over after they noticed a broken tail light.They searched Wittler and found three rocks of crack in his pants pocket, police said.

MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE, IMPRISONMENT

A Shady Side man was arrested Friday and charged with raping a woman he was holding hostage.

Police were called to the home of Kenneth Austin Robinson, 20, of the 4900 block Chestnut Street, at about 7:45 a.m., after a man complained that Robinson had held him at knife-point and was still holding a woman.

Robinson eventually let the woman go and was arrested without incident.

He was charged with false imprisonment, first-degree rape and a first-degree sex offense, police said.

MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN COLLISION WITH CAR

A Pasadena man was killed Sunday when his motorcycle collided with a car at a Glen Burnie intersection.

Robert William Ernest, 32, of the 8500 block Neptune Drive, was pronounced dead at North Arundel Hospital shortly after the 7 p.m. accident.

Police said Richard Alan Gavigan, 30, of the 500 block Brightview Drive in Millersville, was turning left onto Connelly Drive from Route 176.

Police said Gavigan did not see Ernest, who was eastbound on Route 176. Ernest's motorcycle hit Gavigan's car, throwing Ernest onto the windshield of the car.

No charges have been filed in the accident.

CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBED FRIDAY

A gunman robbed an Odenton convenience store early Friday morning, county policesaid.

Police said the man walked into the Royal Farms store in the 7800 block of Telegraph Road and demanded money. The clerk complied, and the robber was last seen walking toward Baltimore on Route 170.

Police describe the gunman as wearing a large, black, wide-brimmed hat, an oversized shirt and green- and black-checkered pants.

CAR SEARCH YIELDS POSSESSION CHARGES

County police have charged a Glen Burnie man with possession of marijuana and cocaine after a traffic stop Friday in Freetown Village.

Officers stopped Thomas Mark Lanning, 19, of the 400 block Norvelle Court, for a traffic offense at about 6:30 p.m. and asked to search his car.

Lanning agreed, and police found a brass smoking pipe with cocaine and marijuana residue, police said.

Lanning also was charged with possession of paraphernalia.
