Frederick E. Baukhages 3rd, 81, a retired Baltimore and Ohio railroad vice president, died of heart failure Friday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church in Luray, Va.
Born in Baltimore, he lived much of his life in Virginia after his family moved there when he was 7. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1930 and the University of Virginia Law School in 1933.
Mr. Baukhages had been a member of the legal staff for the Reconstruction Finance Corporation in Washington in 1935 and later was an assistant to the vice president of operations at Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Neb.
