Tours on WMC schedule

Three tours of cultural meccas in Europe will be available to students during the 1992 January term educational experience at Western Maryland College.

A trip to Spain, featuring excursions and field trips to Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Costa de Sol, and other cities, will be led by Drs. Daniel Williams and Thomas Deveny, associate professor and professor of foreign languages respectively. The tour is designed to acquaint students with many of the major social, artistic, and historical elements influencing modern Spain.

A Mediterranean study tour of Rome and Athens will be led by Dr. Helen Wolfe, associate professor of education and dean of graduate affairs. Students will explore Greco-Roman Culture, focusing on such sites as the Forum, the Colosseum, and St. Peter's, with trips to Pompeii and Ostia. In Athens, they will visit the Corinth, Apollo's oracle at Delphi, Mycenae, Epidarus, and more.

Central Europe is the destination of students under the supervision of Dr. H. Samuel Case, professor of physical education. The group will visit a number of cultural centers, including Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest, Sarajevo, and Dubrovnik.
