Baltimore City

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police said Thomas McCormick, a disabled man who lives in the 2500 block of Cecil Ave., was near his home last night when a man robbed him of more than $150 and was seen running away. Police said McCormick knows the man and was advised to seek a warrant for his arrest.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Cockrell & Son Construction Co. in the 1900 block of Victory Drive reported that someone broke into an apartment they were renovating in the 2400 block of Bridgehampton Drive and stole several buckets of paint and painting supplies, all valued at $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of The Alameda reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a basement window Wednesday or yesterday and stole cash and jewelry valued at more than $3,000 from the bedroom.

THEFT: Central District -- Sharon Harrison, of the 800 block of Park Ave., reported that her car was parked in the 100 block of E. Pratt St. yesterday when someone broke into it and stole a pair of eyeglasses and a briefcase, valued at nearly $150.

STABBING/ARREST: Eastern District -- Police last night arrested 46-year-old man and were holding him at the station in the stabbing of Maurice Allen, 35, of the 1000 block of E. North Ave. Neighbors told police they saw Allen standing on the pavement around 8 p.m. when a man carrying a knife walked up to him and stabbed him in the chest. Police said Allen was rushed to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was treated for the knife wound and admitted. Shortly after the stabbing, police arrested a resident of the 1000 block of E. North Ave. and were holding him pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner. Police said they did not have a motive for the stabbing.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police said Jesse Spain, of the 1900 block of W. Fairmount Ave., was sitting on the front steps of his house yesterday when three men began yelling at him, then striking him with their hands. During the assault, two of the men pulled out a gun and a knife and pointed them at Spain. Police said that during the attack, Spain's uncle, Eric Spain, also was assaulted by the three men. No arrests were made and neither victim was seriously injured.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of the Honey food store in the 500 block of N. Arlington Ave. reported that someone knocked a hole in the wall of an adjoining building, entered their business and took property of unknown value.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2200 block of Koko Lane reported that someone broke into her home by removing an air conditioner from a window and stole a VCR and a purse, all valued at more than $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Herman Ingram, of the first block of N. Ellamont St., reported he was walking in the first block of N. Pulaski St. yesterday when a man approached him from the rear and placed an unknown object in his back. Police said the man then robbed Ingram of nearly $100.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Joseph Dixon, of the 1300 block of Lanvale St., reported he was in the 1600 block of W. Lanvale St. when he was accosted by three men, one armed with a knife, who robbed him of his watch and a ring, all valued at $700.

RAPE: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who raped a woman early yesterday inside an apartment in the 200 block of N. Schroeder St. Police said a resident of Argyle Avenue reported being taken to the home, where she was raped by a man with a knife. After the woman was released, she reported the incident to police. She was later taken to University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and released. Police said the man being sought is a resident of the house where the rape occurred.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said someone broke into a vacant dwelling in the 1800 block of N. Mount St. and stole a gas furnace valued at $600.

RAPE: Western District -- A resident of Edmondson Avenue reported she was forced to accompany a man into a house in the 900 block of N. Gilmor St. early yesterday, where she was raped. She told police the man was armed with a knife and threatened to kill her if she did not submit. The woman was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Winchester St. reported that someone broke into her home yesterday and stole more than $400 from her bedroom dresser.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that a $100 card table was stolen from a house in the 2300 block of W. Lexington St. after someone broke in.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2200 block of Eutaw Place reported property valued at more than $700 was stolen from her apartment after someone forced open the front ** door. Police said the burglar escaped with bed sheets, two TV sets and two telephones.
