* Pittsburgh Pirates -- Placed Don Slaught (catcher) on the 15-day disabled list. Purchased the contract of Jeff Banister (catcher) from Buffalo of the American Association.

* Charlotte Hornets -- Named Allan Bristow (vice president of player personnel) coach. Named Gene Littles (coach) vice president and special assistant. Named Dave Twardzik director of player personnel.

FOOTBALL (NFL)

* Dallas Cowboys -- Signed Danny Noonan (defensive tackle) to a three-year contract. Released Rob McWright (defensive back).

* Detroit Lions -- Waived Ron Sancho (linebacker).

* Indianapolis Colts -- Agreed to terms with Eugene Daniel and Chris Goode (cornerbacks) on three-year contracts, and Chip Banks (linebacker) on a four-year contract.
