Accident leaves 1 dead, 1 injured tHC SJB

One man was killed and another injured when they were struck yesterday about 2 p.m. by a flatbed truck as they were standing on the shoulder of northbound Interstate 695 near Security Boulevard, state police said.

The 25-year-old victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon at Sinai Hospital. The second man, identified only as being from Harford County, was in stable condition at St. Agnes Hospital. According to police, the men were loading a truck onto their tractor-trailer when the flatbed truck hit both men. No charges were filed, but an investigation into the accident is continuing.
