Dear Stadium Doctor:
I am from out of town. When I come up to see the Orioles play, I sometimes stay in a motel downtown. Will there be skywalks from the motels to the new ballpark?

Dear Mr. Diuguid:
This is an excellent question, and one I have not thought about, maybe because I am deathly afraid of heights and would not walk on one of those sky things under any circumstances, unless we're talking about the World Series, in which case I would fly in on the wing of a glider.
Anyway, I got my Yellow Pages out and dialed the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association and spoke with assistant director Alma Megginson. I asked if, instead of leaving a chocolate mint on everybody's pillow next year, a downtown hotel might build a skywalk to the new ballpark. She was very nice. And she said she didn't think so. Then she said: "There is light rail that will stop at the ballpark. There is the MARC [commuter] line. And most downtown hotels are within walking distance, anyway."
