O'malley Center Driver, 47, Dies

Carolyn Heckler, an Anne Arundel County Department of Aging van driver assigned to the Catherine L. O'Malley Senior Center in Odenton, died suddenly June 30 at the age of 47.

In addition to her husband, Robert, and three daughters, Helen, Christine and Elizabeth, Heckler leaves behind the grieving staff and members of the senior center.

Since the 1988 opening of the West County Center, Heckler had provided transportation in Crofton, Gambrills and Crownsville.

Many people saw her dropping off groups of seniors at neighborhood food stores, drugstores and the bowling alley. Observers could not have missed her smile, cheerful and caring.
