Artscape '91 will offer art and entertainment for the whole family this weekend.

Whether you're looking for visual arts, poetry or short-story readings, music, crafts, things for the kids to do or just lots of good food you'll find it along Mount Royal Avenue from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and from noon to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Musical entertainment primarily will be at two locations: Decker Stage, in front of Mount Royal Station Building, and Fox Stage, on Mount Royal Avenue, between Lanvale and Lafayette streets. The musical guest list includes Jeffrey Osborne, Emmylou Harris, Mama Jama, Helicon, and a slew of others.

The visual arts exhibitions will open tomorrow and will remain open until Aug. 11.

McDonalds will sponsor a Family Performance Tent outfitted with a paper plate sculpture workshop, special stories and dances from different cultures. Ronald McDonald will drop in, too.

Lost-and-found, help for lost children, and first aid will be available at two booths at Oliver Street and Mount Royal Avenue.

Artscape '91 will take place rain or shine. However, in the case of severe weather, certain events and vendors will be moved into the Fifth Regiment Armory, at Mason and Preston streets, and to the Langsdale Auditorium, at Oliver Street and Maryland Avenue. All indoor galleries will remain open. For information on what events will be moved indoors in the event of rain, call Chris List or Robert Murrow at 225-2283 during festival hours.

A complete list of Artscape '91 activities is on page D8. An asterisk denotes events that will be signed for the hearing impaired.
