B. Hayden Pentz Jr., 34, a quality-assurance inspector for Waverly Press in Easton, died Sunday of a respiratory illness at Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury.

Funeral services were being held today at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Michaels.

Mr. Pentz, who lived in St. Michaels, had worked for Waverly Press since his graduation from St. Michaels High School in 1975.

He was born in Milwaukee but moved to the Eastern Shore with his parents as a child. He was a member of Bay Hundred Ducks Unlimited, the St. Michaels Volunteer Fire Co. and Christ Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara J. Baxter; a son, Christopher Hayden Pentz; a daughter, Jennifer Leigh Pentz; and his parents, Frances Merryman Pentz and B. Hayden Pentz Sr. All are of St. Michaels.
