Richard W. Story has been appointed senior manager, business development, of Atlantic Builders Group Inc. Formerly he was director of economic development in Baltimore County and earlier in Carroll County.

Story has held marketing positions with the Greater Baltimore Committee and Maryland Economic Growth Associates and was executive director of the Washington-Baltimore Regional Association.

Atlantic Builders was formerly known as McCormick Construction Co. Inc. The company's employees bought the firm from McCormick & Co. Inc. in January 1989. The First National Bank of Maryland has promoted Margaret F. Wright to a vice president in the Private Banking Division. Her duties will include handling private banking accounts and operations.

During her 21 years at the bank, Wright has served as a part-time teller, assistant branch manager, branch officer, regional branch officer and assistant vice president. She simultaneously managed the bank's Lake Falls and Ruxton branches for three years.

* Frank E. Berger, Gerald T. Garland and William N. MacDonald have been promoted to senior vice president in the Wholesale Banking Group at MNC Financial Inc. All three will serve as senior vice presidents of both Maryland National Bank and American Security Bank, MNC's two principal subsidiaries.

Berger began his career at MNC in 1973 and most recently served as vice president and division manager of Special Assets. Garland, who was previously vice president and head of the Secured Lending Division, joined Maryland National in 1983. MacDonald joined the company in 1988, and was most recently vice president and manager of certain wholesale banking activities in the Washington area.

Brenda Crabbs has been appointed director of marketing and community relations for New Town Development Corp., the managing developer of Owings Mills New Town. She was formerly executive director of the Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce and before that served as Baltimore County growth coordinator.

Katz, Abosch, Windesheim, Gershman & Freedman P.A. has promoted Claudia Wolter to the supervisor level. A certified public accountant, Wolter specializes in contractors and computer software.

David E. Raderman and Peter E. Keith have become members of the firm of Gallagher, Evelius & Jones. Randle B. Pollard, Thomas C. Dame and Mary Kay Gaver have become associated with the firm.

* Cynthia A. Bauer has become the administrator of Kaplan, Heyman, Greenberg, Engelman & Belgrad P.A. She has four years of legal administration experience and taught law office management at Villa Julie College.
