With doubleheaders both Saturday and Sunday, the Kazmarek Little Orioles 10-12 team won one state championship and earned a berth in the American Amateur Baseball Congress Pee Wee Reese Regional in Brooklyn, N.Y., Aug. 1-4. As of last night, they also were within one more state title and a berth in the Dizzy Dean World Series in Birmingham, Ala.

The Little Orioles needed one more win at Lansdowne ElementarySchool last night to win the Dizzy Dean state title and earn a berthin the 10-12 World Series, set to begin Saturday.

The Little Orioles (36-0 in 10-12 league and 58-8 overall) defeated Forest Hill of Harford County twice by the slaughter rule (eight-run lead after five innings) by scores of 12-1 and 9-1 to win the Pee Wee Reese state title Sunday.

The Little Orioles then defeated Middle River, 7-4, as Charlie Killmayer (11-0), with help from Vogt (third save), moved the team into Monday's final.

Lansdowne has to take two from the Little Orioles to win the berth.
