Baltimore City

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Jeffrey Bird, of the 1300 block of Homestead St., told police he was in the 1500 block of Homestead St. around 5 a.m. yesterday when he was stopped by two men in their early 20s who knocked him to the ground, kicked him and took money from his pockets. Police said the men escaped with $50.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police today were seeking two men who robbed a woman of her cash and jewelry after she answered a knock at her door. Police said Melissa Gratz, of the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, was home around 8:30 p.m. when someone knocked at her door. Gratz told police that on opening the door she was confronted by two men who asked to see her brother. Police said when Gratz told the men her brother wasn't home, one of the men displayed a gun and together they pushed her inside. There, the men robbed the woman of several pieces of jewelry and other property, all valued at $400, before they fled.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- John Meredith, of the 400 block of S. Smallwood St., reported he was in the 2000 block of W. Pratt St. and had just cashed a check at a store when he was confronted by a man with a handgun who demanded his money. Meredith told police he gave the gunman more than $350.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that Thomas Green, of the 2200 block of Roslyn Ave., was in the 500 block of Swann Ave. when he was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the men fled when Green gave them $40.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police reported Bertha McCleary, of the 3900 block of Rokeby Road, was robbed of cash and property, all valued at more than $350, when she was assaulted by a man as she walked in the 4000 block of Edmondson Ave.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 400 block of Furrow St. reported that someone forcibly entered his home through the front door and stole a TV and stereo equipment valued at nearly $1,200.

SHOOTING/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station in connection with the shooting of David Petty, of the 2200 block of Booth St. Police said Petty was walking in the first block of S. Calverton Road when the driver of a passing blue car fired a shot him in the left leg. Police said the car sped off, but that it was later pulled over and its driver arrested. Petty was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive reported that someone broke into his apartment through an open window and stole a 13-inch TV set valued at more than $300.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Paul Johnson, of the 2400 block of Loyola Northway, told police he was approached by a couple early yesterday while inside his apartment building who grabbed him and robbed him of about $25.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into an apartment in the 900 block of Exeter Hall Ave. through a window and ransacked several rooms. Police said the intruder also ate food from the refrigerator. Later, police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the station pending burglary charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

RAPE: Northern District -- Police today were seeking a man who raped a woman inside her home in the 300 block of Whitridge Ave. yesterday. The woman told police she knows the man who attacked her. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and was released.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Calvin Haskins, of the 1000 block of Argyle Ave., reported he was walking in the 1400 block of Edmondson Ave. early Sunday when he was attacked by several men who beat him with sticks and their fists. Police said the men robbed Haskins of more than $40. Police said Haskins was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center where he was treated for injuries and released.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 800 block of N. Fulton Ave. reported that someone forcibly entered her home and stole two TV sets valued at more than $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police were seeking two men in the robbery Sunday evening of Darrell Brown, of the 3000 block )) of W. North Ave., as he walked in the 2800 block of W. North Ave. Police said Brown was walking down the street around 5 p.m. when he was accosted by two men who walked out of an alley and demanded his money at gunpoint. Police said the gunman and his accomplice escaped with more than $100.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Mosher St. reported that she was awakened by a noise downstairs early yesterday and went to investigate. The woman told police that when she entered the living room she confronted a man who turned and ran out the front door. Police said nothing was reported missing from the house.
