This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.

National defense contracts

Litton Systems Inc. in College Park won a $7,870,026 contract from the Navy to provide two AN/BLD-1 systems for the SSN-22.

Non-defense contracts

Dynamac Corp. in Rockville won a $777,760 contract from the National Library of Medicine for a hazardous substances data bank.

National Association of Social Workers in Silver Spring won a $499,785 contract from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to provide research and development.

Guardian Moving and Storage Co. in Baltimore won a $293,000 (( contract from the Army to package, crate and move household goods.

Mantayo Construction in Clinton won a $146,200 contract from the Navy to construct an addition to a building at the Naval Research Laboratory.

Westinghouse Electronic Systems Group in Baltimore won a $142,083 contract from the U.S. Postal Service to provide remote computer readings.
