Police Beat 35 Teens Arrested At Severna Park Party

GLEN BURNIE — Police arrested 35 teen-agers Wednesday night during a beer-drinkingparty at a Severna Park home.

All of the youths were charged withpossession of alcohol. A 16-year-old girl, who police say was the party's host, was charged with maintaining a disorderly house.

Of the 35 arrested, 19 were charged as adults and 16 were chargedas juveniles.

Officer Jim Campbell said in a report that he saw beer in virtually every room of the house, in the unit block of Severndale Road, when he arrived at about 11:30 p.m., responding to a complaint of a disorderly party.

Campbell estimated that from 75 to 100people were at the party at one time.

Police say they confiscatedsix cases of beer, as well as four or five cases of empty cans scattered throughout the house.

"It should be noted that all juveniles denied drinking," Campbell wrote in his report. "Almost all of them said that they had just arrived and most of the males were sarcastic and insulting.

"They banged on the windows of the prisoner vans andstarted singing '99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.' "

The people arrested were given citations by police, then sent home with their parents.

Police say the homeowner, who was out of town, was contacted.She told authorities that no one had permission to be in her house and that her daughter had been given strict orders against having a party.


A 17-year-old girl told police that a man tried to abduct her Wednesday night while she was walking down Ritchie Highway near Arundel Corporation Road in Brooklyn Park.

Carla Ann Pickett, of the 5200 block of Kranme Avenue,Baltimore, said a man stopped his car in the southbound lane and asked her if she needed a ride.

Pickett said the man got out of the car and grabbed her and tried to force her into the car. But police say the girl hit the man with a bag and ran away.

Police are lookingfor a white male, 40 to 45 years old, with a thin build and a bushy mustache. He had long, brown, dirty-looking hair and was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and jeans.


A30-year-old Shady Side man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges outside a Glen Burnie apartment complex.

Stefan Aaron Scott, of the 5800 block of Shadyside Road, was charged with possession with intentto distribute cocaine.

Police say the man was wanted an outstanding warrant, charging him with distribution of cocaine. He had 10 crack cocaine rocks and a pager with him when he was arrested, according to the police report.
