Baltimore man shot last month dies

A 20-year-old northwest Baltimore man who was shot three times June 19 died today from those wounds, city police reported.

Marcus Gray, of the 4000 block of Bowers Ave., was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is the city's 150th homicide victim this year, compared with 139 on this date late year.

A warrant has been issued for Vernon Cox, 30, of the first block of Aisquith St., who has been charged with fatally shooting Gray. The victim and Cox were seen talking in front of the suspect's house when Cox allegedly produced a handgun and shot Gray in the chest, arm and leg.

Police said they know no motive in the case.
