John T. Saltysiak, a former Baltimore resident who lived in Savannah, Ga., was shot and killed July 4 during a robbery there. He was 37.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Cockeysville.
Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Calvert Hall high school and Florida State University. He served in the Army for 12 years, including three years in Germany and three in Panama.
Upon leaving the service in 1987, he settled in Savannah and worked as a chef at the Hyatt Regency Hotel before accepting a position in 1989 as general manager of the Ole Pink House, a historic restaurant on Reynolds Square.
