Two from Howard County have recently graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy:

* Navy Ensign William L. Wilson, son of William and SylviaWilson of Columbia, graduated with a bachelor's degree in general science.

Wilson is a 1986 graduate of Oakland Mills High School.

* NavyEnsign Craig A. Moringiello, son of Joan Moringiello of Columbia, graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science.

WELCOME BACK

Army Sgt. William D. Houchins Jr., son of William Houchins of Ellicott City, has returned from the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Houchins is a fighting vehicle infantryman, stationedat Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Ga.

MECHANIC COURSE DONE

Marine Pvt.Arwen M. Kirtley-Hodess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce H. Kirtley-Hodessof Ellicott City, recently completed the Basic Engineer Equipment Mechanic Course at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

LONG COMPLETES BASIC

Pvt. Robert D. Long, son of Edith L. Miller of Columbia, has completed basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.

Long received instruction in such areas as drill and ceremonies, weapons and map reading.

ARMY GETS NEW RECRUIT

Eric P. Moulton, son of Sue Moulton of Columbia, has joined the Army under the delayed entry program.

Moulton, who graduated last month from Oakland Mills High School, will report for basic training in September at Fort Jackson, S.C.

WRIGHT RETURNS FROM GULF

Marine Lance Cpl. Harold M. Wright, son of Henry and Carol Wright of Columbia, recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Wright, who joined the Marine Corps in November 1989, served with the 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

HORAN IS 2ND LIEUTENANT

Leonard J. Horan Jr., son of Leonard and Jo Anne Horan of Woodbine, recently was commissioned a second lieutenant upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.

Horan, who is scheduled for training with the Corps of Engineers at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., is a 1987 graduate of Glenelg High School.

STEPHENS IS PROMOTED

Michael J. Stephens, son of James and Alma Stephens of Columbia, has been promoted in the Air Force to the rank of first lieutenant.

Stephens, a research engineer at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is a 1985 graduate of Atholton High School.

SGT. KLINE GRADUATES

Staff Sgt. Kevin W. Kline has graduatedfrom an infield, non-commissioned officer leadership school at Yokota Air Base, Japan, where he is an aerospace propulsion specialist. Kline is the son of Gail Kline of Mount Airy.

FREEMAN TRAINING IS OVER

Army National Guard Pvt. Lisa M. Freeman has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. She is the daughter of Sandra Freeman of Columbia.

CLIFTON ENDS TRAINING

Pvt. Ross M. T. Clifton, son of Thomas R. Clifton of Clarksville, has completed basic military police training at Fort McClellan, Anniston, Ala.

He was trained in areas such as prisoner of war operations, battlefield circulation control andhandling civilian internees.

Clifton is a 1990 graduate of Atholton High School.

LOWE GETS COMMISSION

Michael F. Lowe, son of Gail Stephens of Eldersburg, has been commissioned a second lieutenant through the Air Force ROTC program at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The lieutenant is a 1987 graduate of Liberty High School.

JACOBS ON LANDING CRAFT

Navy Fireman Apprentice Marc F. Jacobs, son of Malcolm and Maxine Jacobs, recently reported for duty aboard the tanklanding ship USS San Bernadino, home ported in Sasebo, Japan.

A 1990 graduate of Oakland Mills High School, Jacobs joined the Navy in August 1990.

PRITCHETT ON CARRIER

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Wesley S. Pritchett, son of Glen Pritchett of Mount Airy, reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga, homeported in Mayport, Fla.

Pritchett joined the Navy in December 1987.
