Gala Gold Digger wins Laurel feature

LAUREL -- Gala Gold Digger turned back stablemate Duds by a half-length yesterday to win the $35,375 Toddler Breeders' Cup Stakes at Laurel Race Course.

The slight favorite among a field of eight 2-year-old fillies rallied from fifth position with jockey Gregg McCarron aboard to complete 5 1/2 furlongs in 1 minute, 5 1/5 seconds.

Duds, ridden by Edgar Prado, finished five lengths ahead of Squirm.
