Bays slip past Colorado, 3-2, for their 18th straight victory

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Kevin Sloan scored a goal off a pass from Brian Haynes with 33 minutes remaining to lift the Maryland Bays to a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Foxes last night, the Bays' 18th consecutive American Professional Soccer League win.

The Bays are 10-0 this season and lead the Western Conference with 81 points. They have not lost since July 21, 1990.

Sloan, who has scored a point in seven straight games, scored 2 minutes, 10 seconds into the game on a goal from 18 feet away to give the Bays a 1-0 lead.

Bill Beacher tied the score with a goal at the 8:00 mark. Jean Harbor gave Maryland a 2-1 halftime advantage with a goal 26:00 into the first half.

Colorado again tied the score, as Chad Ashton scored off a corner kick 9:00 into the second half.
