An unidentified man was killed early today when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 near the city line, State Police said.

Trooper Isaac Jackson, of the Glen Burnie Barracks, said that about 1:25 a.m., two men got out of a northbound car after hitchhiking a ride from Ocean City and began crossing the highway.

Jackson said the victim, about 19, was hit by a BMW, whose driver was not charged.
