July 02, 1991

Larry Stewart, who helped Coppin State to 20-win seasons in 1989-90 and 1990-91, has been invited to try out by Washington Bullets and Dallas Mavericks.

He will attend the Washington camp July 15 and the Dallas camp July 23.

Stewart, 6 feet 7, considered an excellent jumper and post player, averaged 13.4 rebounds (fourth in the nation) and 23.8 points last season.

He twice was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was winner of the 1991 John B. McLendon Trophy as the top player attending a historically black school (Bullets guard A.J. English won the 1990 award).
