Grab the Green romps by 3 in Hilltop Stakes

Grab the Green took command turning into the stretch and ran off to a three-length victory in the 19th running of the $56,850 Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico Race Course yesterday.

The 7-10 favorite in a field of seven 3-year-old fillies remained unbeaten on turf by completing 1 1/16 miles in 1 minute, 44 3/5 seconds under Pimlico's leading jockey, Edgar Prado.

Stem the Tide finished second by 1 3/4 lengths over Madam Sandie.

Grab the Green earned $34,110 for owner Samuel H. Rogers Jr. of Leesburg, Va., and paid $3.40, $3 and $2.20.

Stem the Tide paid $7 and $2.80; Madam Sandie paid $2.60. The 4-8 exacta was worth $24.60. The 4-8-2 triple paid $99.30.
