David A. Jones, formerly of the accounting firm Jones and Foster, has merged his practice with Columbia-based Cardoni and Co.

Jones specializes in corporate tax and financial consulting for construction contractors.

He has been in public accounting since 1984.

GOLDBERG JOINS FIRM

Boender Associates of Ellicott City has announced that Gene Goldberg has joined the firm and will lead its civil engineering department.

Goldberg is a registered professional engineer with the state and brings to Boender over 27 years of civil engineering and construction management.

BROCK WINS COUNTY HONOR

At the annual meeting of the county Chamber of Commerce, the Columbia Bank and Jerry Brock, vice president and senior development director of the Rouse Co., were named business and businessman of the year, respectively.

Both the bank and Brock were cited for their involvement in business and community organizations in the county area.

BOESCHE NAMED DIRECTOR

Normandy Health and Fitness Center has named Michele Boesche as director of the life extension program, which is designed to assess and detect early degenerative changes in the body.

Boesche, who is affiliated with the National Cholesterol Awareness Program, willbe responsible for activities such as blood-cholesterol monitoring, blood-pressure evaluation and body-fat analysis.

KELLER WINS AWARD

The Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland has named Manon Keller, a sales consultant at Trafalgar House, "Rookie of the Year" for sales volume.

Keller, an Ellicott Cityresident, was one of two other Trafalgar employees in Howard County to receive sales achievement awards.

The other two were Penelope DeBold of Columbia and Linda Lee Volenick, who works at Willowood in Elkridge.

HOHL IS APPOINTED

Columbia-based American Properties has appointed Bob Hohl, who has worked in new home sales for over five years, as sale consultant representing the Douglas Homes of the Wetherburn community in Ellicott City.

COLUMBIA PAIR ON BOARD

Andrew V. Tignanelli, chief executive officer of Columbia-based Coordinated Assets, and Christopher J. O'Shea, chief operating officer, have been appointed to serve on the Towson State University alumni board of directors.
