HAGERSTOWN -- Tim Raley's three-run homer capped a seven-run seventh inning, as the Hagerstown Suns defeated the Reading Phillies, 8-7, in a Class AA Eastern League game last night.

Raley's homer, his second of the year and his first since April 12, gave the Suns an 8-5 lead. Reading scored twice in the eighth, but reliever Jeff Williams retired the Phillies in order in the ninth for his eighth save.

Todd Stephan (4-5) allowed one earned run and three hits in five innings for the victory.

Buford's 2-run double beats Peninsula, 4-2

FREDERICK -- Damon Buford's two-run double in the fourth inning lifted the Frederick Keys to a 4-2 victory over the Peninsula Pilots in a Class A Carolina League game last night.

The Keys, who have won three straight, loaded the bases in the fourth on three walks, all issued by starter Paul Perkins (8-5). With two out, Buford lifted a bloop fly ball into shallow right field to score Cesar Devares and Randy Berlin for a 4-2 lead.

Left-hander John O'Donoghue (6-5) struck out a season-high 10 in eight innings to get the win. O'Donoghue struck out the first five batters he faced. Brad Pennington relieved in the ninth and ++ picked up his second save.

The three-game winning streak ties Frederick's longest of the season. The Keys did it twice in April.
