Help for future?

It's your call

June 27, 1991

A federal commission has recommended giving parents a $1,000 tax credit for each child as part of a plan to help protect America's youth from poverty and despair by strengthening families.

Of 238 Evening Sun readers and other callers to SUNDIAL yesterday, 128, or 53 percent, support tax credits for parents and 110, or 46 percent, do not support the credits. Of 242 callers, 144, or 59 percent, believe they could make a difference, and 98, or 40 percent, believe they would not make a difference.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
