How would you describe your taste in clothing?
I love classic clothing. I also have a tendency to gravitate toward black clothing, but I am trying hard to get a little color into my life. I prefer silk and rayon clothing that moves and flows, nothing tight fitting. Since I dress very conservative for work, I like to break out the funky earrings and my fun clothes when I play.
What's the newest thing in your closet?
That's tough to answer, because my sister, Monica, and I recently spent 8 hours looking for bargains. You could call it sister bonding with one of my four sisters. As a matter of fact, my newest thing is a funky little miniskirt -- a gift from one of my sisters. It's fun.
What's the oldest thing in your closet?
Some of my mother's dresses. I raided her closet years ago, and got some real vintage clothes. My favorites were the black silks and wools which I had shortened and they are beautiful. Another neat item from mom's closet is a leather and leopard skin belt. That one I had to battle my sister to get, but I won.
Do you have a standby outfit, that you wear to feel good?
Maybe pretty black pants and a white blouse, but I don't really think I have anything too specific. Every occasion dictates a different outfit. You can always get by with a little black dress.
What have you held on to for sentimental reasons?
Besides a few of mom's dresses that I find a little bizarre, it's probably a jacket that I bought at Veteran's Warehouse.
What's the most expensive item in your closet?
My cowboy boots from East Village Leather in New York. They are black lizard and they are beautiful. I wear them with my jeans and it's a look that I like.
What's the least expensive item in your closet?
Probably, my old wedding ring!
What's the wildest outfit you've ever worn?
Definitely red spandex pants and a ace-up top from Kent's on Broadway. That was my costume when I played Lulu in "Polyester."
What are your favorite accessories?
Earrings and belts. I like classic, handcrafted earrings. I think I only have about 50 pairs. As for belts, I don't have nearly enough.
Do have any shopping tips you'd like to share?
My only tip is to shop when things are on sale.
If you could buy anything in the world that you wanted, what would that be?
A house on the Mediterranean with no phones and lots of closets!
