Construction

John J. Looney has been appointed controller for Genstar Stone Products Co. He will be responsible for all financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, cost reporting and cash management. He joined Genstar in 1963.

Kenneth "Bob" Hatter has been appointed vice president, management supervisor at Marriner Marketing Communications Inc. His responsibilities include account supervision and new business development for the Columbia-based advertising and sales-promotion agency. He was formerly corporate communications officer for the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co.

Kent Carter has been named sales manager of the newly expanded commercial Investment Division at Manis & Wright Realty in Annapolis. Carter has 25 years' experience in real estate, most recently with Champion Realty. Manis & Wright represents commercial property owners and tenants in and around Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington.

Chase Bank of Maryland has selected Ron Huffman, vice president, to head its commercial Real Estate Lending Department. He will supervise all construction and permanent loan financing. Huffman joined Chase in 1989 from Provident Bank, where he served as vice president of commercial real estate lending. Chase is a subsidiary of Chase Manhattan Corp.

PC Micro Dealers, a distributor of Macintosh and IBM software and peripherals, has appointed Yvonne Farrell as marketing director. She will be responsible for promoting new product lines, especially educational and CD-ROM optical storage products, to existing customers. She also will be responsible for targeting new dealers and resellers for PC Micro Dealers product lines across the continental United States. She comes from Bethesda Computers, where she was retail sales manager.

Van Tunstall has been named president of Gilroy Foods Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of McCormick & Co. Inc. Located in Gilroy, Calif., Gilroy Foods is a major grower, producer and worldwide marketer of dehydrated onion and garlic, herbs and other food products.

Robert S. Chubb has joined Kennedy Personnel Services, a supplier of temporary and permanent staffers. Chubb, who is responsible for new account development, has nearly 20 years' experience in the placement industry with companies including Staff Builders, Norell and Kelly Temporary Services.

Tourism

R. John Hanegan has been named director of personnel and Stephen J. Cobb, assistant general manager and director of food and beverages at the Princess Royale, an all-suite resort in Ocean City. Cobb has worked in a management capacity in various Baltimore-area restaurants, including Richard's, Sh'nanigans and Bobby Boyd's Hooligans.

Consulting

Price Waterhouse has promoted Joseph L. Burt and Joseph M. Vallo to senior managers of the Management Horizons Division, a management-consulting and market-research firm that focuses on retailing and consumer goods. Burt specializes in the development and installation of Point-of-Sale systems and merchandise management for retailers. Vallo specializes in strategic systems planning, with emphasis on software package evaluation and inventory management and loss prevention.

Promoted to manager were Jennifer J. Crites, Lois A. Huff, Kevin M. Kennedy, Marcia D. Speck, Gerard K. Yeo and economist Ira Kalish. Julie A. Nelson has been promoted to senior consultant in the division.
