Maryland Bays president and general manager John Liparini and Bays defender Desmond Armstrong decided yesterday that Armstrong, because of previous commitments, will most likely be unavailable to the team for the remainder of the season.
Armstrong, a member of the 1990 World Cup Soccer Team, is a member of the U.S. national team and has plans for marriage and a possible trip to Brazil.
Even though Armstrong is still on the roster, he will concentrate on working in the front office and with the Bays' summer camps, Liparini said.
"Our interest in Desmond is long-term," Liparini said. "We look foDesmond to come back next year."
Armstrong, who could not be reached for comment, has playe40 minutes for the Bays this season and has appeared in one game.
